North East Dubtronic Vol. 3 - Disassembled
After the big GMC event Feb. 13 to celebrate the third volume of the Dubtronic series - compilations showcasing talent from the North East of the UK and afar - this is the GMC Berlin revision of the third inception. Resident Georg Hekt chopped 10 tracks via an MPC over 10 days in an effort to merge the spirit of Berlin with the North East Dubtronic Sound. Info:
Felix K - https://soundcloud.com/
Felix K (aka QNS) has been representing the minimal techy sound of Berlin dnb since 1995 through the Hidden Hawaii label he co-owns as well as releases on Doc Scott’s 31 Records, Apex Records and numerous others. Quantity Not Sufficient sums up the Felix K sound – with strong associations to the Dystopian techno collective and a recent showcase on the Boiler Room show, FACT magazine described his sound as ‘agile, minimalist but crucially rude dnb with a strong, tunnelistic techno influence.’ Expect abstract beat science and tough, aerodynamic rollers.
Christoph Fringeli - http://praxis.c8.com/
Christoph has been at the forefront of experimental underground music since the foundation of Praxis Records in a Peckham Squat during the summer of 1992. For over 20 years he has been bruising crowds across the globe and delivered a series of brooding, dystopian sounds under a number of guises – most notably as Base Force One alongside collaborations with Pure and DJ Scud on the infamous Ambush Records.
Dee Jay Jess - http://www.rudefm.com/
Back on RudeFM.com, Jess has been involved in the London dnb scene since the Structure parties began in 2003. Check out his collaboration with Psylence which resulted in the underground anthem 'Other Worlds' supported by Equinox and Breakage.
Edmondson - https://soundcloud.com/
It’s a warm welcome back for Edmondson, resident at The Click London. Having co-hosted the legendary Sketches nights in Newcastle and with a slew of compilation releases he also represents Indigo and Synkro’s brand new label Electro-Magnetic Fields and the north east’s Natural Selection crew.
Mudfoot Blaps
Ghetto godfather and host of GMC Radio, Mudfoot held down dnb turntable duties for the OCP and Hidden Agenda (Metalheadz) collectives back in the 90s and has since been at the forefront of soundtracking UK street art inc residencies at KissFM and the Method Lounge.
10 Below – https://soundcloud.com/
Techy sounds from the resident at Audio Asylum, Turbulence, Damage and Grenade (UK).
Room 2:
Laylla Dane - http://
Laylla Dane is one of those dj artists that we put in the category "vinyl freaks", with a collection of musical jewles, gathered on the road to refined sound over the past 10 years. Her mature technique and her two best friends house & techno are an inseparable part of the throbbing stories she narrates for crowds.
Parallel Concept - http://soundcloud.com/
PC first broke out through participating in the Mad-Hop compilations and co-running the WTFisSWAG crew with a forthcoming release due through Svetlana Industries – for this one all sounds will be rendered live.
Georg Hekt - http://soundcloud.com/
GMCB resident Georg has been releasing his brand of deep sounds for the last 15 years through Stigae Music, DSQT, Dusted Wax Kingdom, Mizukage, Architects & Heroes and more.
Subnote - https://soundcloud.com/
Fresh garage/house sounds tested throughout the UK with a brand new EP Future Movements just landed.
Practitioner - https://soundcloud.com/
The GMCB resident brings sounds tested throughout the UK and abroad inc a residency with Georg Hekt at the legendary Tacheles club (RIP!).
Zaharry aka 261 - https://soundcloud.com/261
Back from Sofia with a bag full of steady beats honed across Berlin.
